WITH just a few hours left before the Flying Fijians take on Australia in its first pool match at Sapporo Dome, the John McKee-coached side also has supporters in Hollywood, with the likes of Big Little Lies actors Shailene Woodley and Reese Witherspoon also wishing the team well.
In a post on her official Instagram account earlier today, Woodley, who is also the partner of Flying Fijians playmaker Ben Volavola, wished the team well ahead of their game this afternoon.
Woodley spoke highly of the Flying Fijians team members and ask her followers “to send a little prayer and some good grounding energy to the Flying Fijians for this World Cup”.
“It’s a monumental and historical moment for this stunning nation and I couldn’t feel more blessed to call these men my brothers and to have one extra special one who will live in my heart forever as the first man to show me what true unconditional support, love, grace, compassion, humour, comfort and unadulterated joy looks like,” Woodley mentioned on her Instagram post.
She concluded her social media post with a Fijian phrase, “Au Domoni iko FIJI!!!”
Commenting on her co-star’s post, Witherspoon also cheered for Ben and the Flying Fijians.
