THE cost of damage on Subash Chand’s vegetable farm after every natural disaster stands around $10,000.

The 76-year-old was among hundreds of voters that cast their votes for the 2018 General Election at Shantiniketan Pathsala Primary School in Baulevu , Naitasiri this morning.

Mr Chand said his farms gets flooded after every heavy rain due to poor drainage problems.

“I’ve been staying in this farming settlement for the last decade and one of the things we always want in this area is for drainage problems to be fixed.

“I hope that the next Government  will help farmers here by fixing the drainage system,”he said.
