A NEW Energy Fiji Limited substation would soon be established in Naikabula, Lautoka.

This was confirmed by EFL CEO Hasmukh Patel while speaking at the 2018 Top Executives Conference in Nadi over the weekend.

He said the new substation would cater for the new commercial properties that would be built near the area. “So far businesses in the great Nadi and Lautoka areas have been supplied by our Vuda Station since it was established in 1978.

“It has worked so far but given that we are getting a lot more commercial properties coming up, we will be establishing another substation just outside of Lautoka in Naikabula.

“So if there are any new factories coming up or any new commercial ventures between Lautoka and Ba we should be able to supply them.”

He said the tax free zone between Tavua and Rakiraki was also being catered by a new substation.

“We have already established a zone substation in Volivoli and that is going to take care of all the customers that are existing and those that will come in the future in the Rakiraki and Korovou corridor.”
