The Fiji Police Force is investigating a case where 120 villagers from Ra were duped into going to work in Canada.

The villagers had paid money to a man purportedly working as an agent for a company in Canada.

The 120 villagers had arrived at the Nadi International Airport last week to catch a flight to Vancouver when they discovered the agent was not at the airport.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the matter was under investigation now.
