FIFTY TWO youth participants gathered at the University of the South Pacific for the Fiji Youth Speak Forum today.

Titled “Empowering Youth: From Decisions to Actions focusing on SDG 13 and SDG 14” its main aim is to engage Fijian youths in discussions and provide support in taking relevant actions in the fight against climate change.
Presenter at the forum, ex Greenpeace Campaigner Lagi Toribau said youths were an important aspect to as they are the future leaders of tomorrow.
Youths are fundamentally important they are our future leaders of tomorrow and its important to not only empower them with information and the ammunition they need to be able to foster and be change agents in the world but also to hold decision makers accountable, to also be leaders in the implementation of commitments that’s already been done,” Mr Toribau said.
The event was co-organised by the AISECS and Pacific Islands Develoment Forum
