Fifty women graduated at the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre today.

While officiating at the event, Minister for Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar said the centre provided skill-based developmental opportunities to underprivileged women in communities.

“This enables marginalised and destitute women to have access to income-generating activities by offering them training in areas such as cooking and pastry, tailoring and embroidery, hydroponics, and caregiving with a capacity of 100 women,” Ms Akbar said.

Seventeen women received a Certificate of Completion in sewing, 14 were awarded cooking and pastry certificates, and 19 graduated with a Certificate in Caregiving.
