A COMPLETION date for the Semo Crossing Replacement Project remains uncertain, with weather and material availability continuing to affect the progress of the works.
The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) said the project was progressing well but could not provide a definite timeline for completion.
Responding to queries from The Fiji Times on Wednesday, the FRA said the project schedule could change depending on weather conditions and the availability of construction materials.
Meanwhile, according to a public advisory by the FRA, major foundation works have been completed, including the pouring of foundation beams that will support the new crossing structure.
Twelve precast box culverts have also been delivered to the site. The FRA said the box culverts would form part of the upgraded crossing, with preparations under way for the next stage of rehabilitation.
The completed project is expected to provide residents with improved access and road users with a safer and more reliable crossing. The FRA said it would continue to provide updates through its social media platforms and public advisories.
