BULOU Lily Grace Vualeba is stepping into the spotlight as a contestant in the Vodafone Rakiraki Carnival to champion a cause close to her heart – raising awareness about domestic violence and its lasting impact on the future generation.
Sponsored by Haroons Hardware, the 18-year-old hails from Lomaji, Kabara, Lau.
Currently a Year 13 student at Nakauvadra High School, she sees the festival platform as a crucial vehicle for driving meaningful community awareness and personal growth.
Ms Vualeba selected domestic violence as her core advocacy focus to highlight how widespread issues directly shape the lives of young people growing up today.
“I chose this topic because I would like to educate people on how domestic violence can affect the lives of the upcoming generation.”
Entering the competition represents a personal milestone for the student, who views the stage as an opportunity to push beyond her comfort zone and develop key leadership skills while promoting her cause.
