Emerging designer Claire Bartolome is set to make her debut at Fiji Fashion Week 2026 with her label KELERA, unveiling a collection titled SOLSTICE — a body of work inspired by transition, balance, and the natural rhythms of the Pacific.
A mechanical engineering student at the University of the South Pacific, Claire brings a unique perspective to fashion.
Her designs are influenced by structure and precision, while still allowing room for creativity and emotion.
“I’ve always been drawn to creating,” she said.
“Engineering taught me how things come together, but fashion allows me to express something more personal.”
SOLSTICE reflects the in-between moments of the day — from sunrise to dusk — capturing the subtle shifts in light, mood, and energy across island landscapes.
The collection explores the balance between softness and strength, with garments designed to feel both effortless and intentional.
Claire’s colour palette draws from Pacific tones, including soft neutrals, ocean blues, warm sand hues, and muted botanical shades.
She works with breathable fabrics such as linen blends, cotton, denim, and sustainable natural fibres, focusing on comfort and wearability in tropical climates.
Her journey into design began at a young age, creating handmade outfits for her dolls using thrifted materials — a passion that has since evolved into a more purposeful practice.
“This collection feels like a full-circle moment for me,” she shared.
Choosing Fiji Fashion Week as her platform, Claire hopes to introduce KELERA in a space that values storytelling and craftsmanship.
Looking ahead, she aims to grow her brand through collaboration and community, staying grounded in creativity and purpose.
With SOLSTICE, Claire presents a debut that is both thoughtful and expressive — marking the arrival of a promising new voice in Fiji’s fashion scene.
