LELEAN Memorial School assistant principal Ulaiyasi Vakatawakoula praised his players for holding their nerve after they defeated Ratu Navula College 36-27 in a thrilling U19 semi-final at Churchill Park on Saturday.

Vakatawakoula thanked Ratu Navula for pushing his side throughout the match and said the team would now turn its attention to the final.

“We thank Ratu Navula for giving us a very tough game right to the final whistle. We are thankful to the boys and we are very humble with the win.

“We will go back now and prepare for the final. We will look at our mistakes and try to work on them and improve for the final, ” he said.

Lelean’s victory secured its place in the U19 final, where it will have an opportunity to claim the title.

Meanwhile, Ratu Navula College also secured a place in the U14 final after edging Ratu Kadavulevu School 26-25.

Ratu Navula will face Queen Victoria School in the U14 final.
