Deputy Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka in a statement last night has confirmed that he has identified an Aircraft Accident Investigator to conduct a thorough investigation into the Gau aerodrome accident.
According to the statement, the Northern Air aircraft involved in the accident landed beyond the designated landing area and sustained significant damage yesterday morning at 8.30am.
Both the two crew members and three passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft, and no injuries were reported.
Investigations are currently underway.
