ASSISTANT coach and former captain for the Fiji Airways men’s sevens team Jerry Tuwai, shares insights on the team’s preparation for upcoming tournaments.

Tuwai expresses gratitude to the Fiji Rugby Union and to the Head coach Osea Kolinisau for the opportunity and for welcoming him on board.

“I thank the FRU and Osea Kolinisau for welcoming me to the team,” Tuwai said.

Reflecting on the last two tournaments, Tuwai says the team is looking to work and improve on their technical and tactical attacking strategies.

With his past experience, his presence in the team will be a great influence in developing devised game plans.

Tuwai added the transition from playing alongside team members to coaching them has been smooth with the team members slowly adjusting to his new role and honoring boundaries.

“There’s a boundary now, the boys understand and for that I am thankful,” he said.

Despite having to assist and work alongside his former coach and captain, Tuwai says the focus lies on improving from their performance and winning the next two tournaments.
