IT all started in 1921 when a simple contest would give birth to an icon.

The contest called on home cooks to solve a jigsaw puzzle for a chance to win a pincushion in the shape of a bag of gold medal flour.

Following this contest, the character Betty Crocker was created to give a personal response to an overwhelming number of letters from women constantly seeking cooking advice.

Ingredients:

1. 1/2 cup Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy Chocolate Frosting;

2. 1/2 cup milk;

3. 1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix;

4. 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips;

5. 1/3 cup finely chopped cocktail peanuts;

6. 1 container cool whipped frozen topping;

7. 3 bars Snickers chopped;

8. 2 tablespoons finely chopped cocktail peanuts;

9. 1/2 cup Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy.

Chocolate Frosting Steps:

1. Heat oven to 176°C. Spray cooking spray on a baking pan.

2. In a large microwaveable bowl, microwave 1/2 cup frosting for 5-10 seconds or until frosting is thin.

Beat milk with whisk until blended. Stir in dry cake mix, spread batter evenly in pan.

Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1/3 cup peanuts evenly on top

3. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre of the cake comes out almost clean.

Cool completely for 1 hour 30 minutes 4. When ready to serve, use a spoon to spread whipped topping over cooled cake.

Sprinkle chopped candy bars and 2 tablespoons peanuts on top.

In a small microwaveable bowl, microwave 1/2 cup frosting for 10-15 seconds or until frosting is thin.

Using a fork, drizzle the frosting over cake.
