The ROC Market in Suva was filled with colour and excitement yesterday as the Chinese Association of Fiji hosted its 2026 Chinese New Year celebration.

Families, visitors and dignitaries gathered to enjoy lion dances, children’s performances and cultural displays marking the Year of the Horse.

Association president Jenny Seeto welcomed guests and acknowledged the support of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the China Cultural Centre.

The market–style celebration also provided a boost for local MSMEs through the association’s voucher initiative.

Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka also joined the festivities, adding to the lively atmosphere as the community came together to celebrate tradition, friendship and a joyful start to the new lunar year.
