Tailevu Naitasiri has earned promotion to the 2026 Premier Division after a determined 1–0 victory over Seaqaqa FC in the final leg of the Extra Senior League playoff at Subrail Park, Labasa, securing a 2–0 aggregate win.

Once again, it was teenage striker Jason Dau who delivered for his side.

The Vunimono High School student scored the decisive goal in the 40th minute, latching onto a precise through ball before calmly slotting past the Seaqaqa goalkeeper.

Dau, who also netted in the first leg at Ratu Cakobau Park, proved to be the difference over the two matches.

Seaqaqa welcomed back star forward Mohammed Ziad “Poppet” for the clash, but despite enjoying long spells of possession and mounting intense second-half pressure, they were unable to break through a resolute Tailevu Naitasiri defence.

With the win, Tailevu Naitasiri will replace Tavua in Fiji’s topflight next season.

The result marks a major step forward for the side and highlights the rise of 17-year-old Dau, whose composure and eye for goal have earned him recognition as one of the country’s brightest young football prospects.

For Seaqaqa, the dream of Premier Division football will have to wait for at least another year.
