KADAVU women produced a strong second-half comeback to defeat Ba Women’s Rugby 22-14 in Round 10 of the Subrails Marama Cup at 4R Stadium in Ba yesterday.

Ba dominated the opening 40 minutes, displaying a gutsy attacking performance that saw them cross the try line twice through Nanise Tuwai and Reapi Savui.

Serena Naweni converted both tries as Ba established a 14-5 lead at halftime.

Kadavu managed one try in the opening half through Alowesi Nakoci but could not add the conversion.

The second half belonged to Kadavu as the side lifted its intensity and changed its game plan to turn the match around.

Meredani Qoro, Karalaini Nuku and Matelita Numia scored three tries for Kadavu in the second half, with Lucy Sotia converting one.

Kadavu held on in the closing stages to secure a hard-fought victory over the home side.

Kadavu trainer Joeli Neiliko credited the team’s unity and faith for the comeback victory.

“Thank God for the win, giving us strength and guidance.

“I reminded the girls to believe on themselves and trust our game plan.

“Play together as a team, play in unity,” Neiliko said.
