Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka honoured the memory of Cabinet Minister Agni Deo Singh, remembering his colleague as a dedicated leader who devoted his career to the service of others.
Paying tribute to their shared work in Government, Mr Rabuka highlighted the Mr Singh’s long legacy of advocacy and his unwavering commitment to advancing the rights of workers.
“It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of my Cabinet colleague and friend,” he said.
“Agni was a man who dedicated his life to the service of others, particularly the workers of our country whose rights and wellbeing he championed for many years.”
Mr Rabuka emphasised the lasting impact of Mr Singh’s public service, noting that his leadership demonstrated principled dedication and humility.
“Through his life and his work, he taught us what it means to serve with conviction, humility and purpose.
“A dedicated leader and public servant has been lost. I have lost a valued colleague and friend.”
Reflecting on their personal connection, Mr Rabuka extended sympathy to the bereaved family while acknowledging his personal gratitude for the late minister’s contributions.
“On behalf of my family and the Government, I extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
“His contribution to our government will not be forgotten. Rest well, my friend,thank you for your service.”
