Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu and his senior executive team visited Police Constable Senoveva Tikoduadua, recognising her courage and dedication to duty after she sustained serious injuries while serving in the line of duty.
PC Tikoduadua was struck by a vehicle while on duty in Laqere in April this year.
She recently returned from Australia after undergoing extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.
According to the Fiji Police Force, the young officer has spent several months receiving treatment and undergoing rehabilitation in both Fiji and Australia.
Also present during the visit was her father, Minister for Defence and Veterans Affairs Pio Tikoduadua.
Commissioner Tudravu praised PC Tikoduadua for her bravery and commitment to the policing profession despite the personal sacrifices she has endured.
He said policing was an unpredictable profession with inherent dangers, and her experience was a reminder that fulfilling the oath to protect and serve could come at a significant personal cost.
Mr Tudravu acknowledged her sacrifice and dedication, assuring her of the Fiji Police Force’s continued support throughout her recovery.
The Commissioner said the organisation greatly valued her commitment to service and would stand by her as she continued her rehabilitation.
