THE Kaiviti Silktails suffered another disappointing defeat after going down 30-10 to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in their Round 12 Jersey Flegg clash on Saturday.
The Silktails showed plenty of fight in the opening half and matched the Rabbitohs point for point as both sides headed into the break locked at 10-all.
Silktails tries were scored by Sailosi Molikula and Tevita Wanisi while Iowani Mainalovo added one successful conversion.
The Rabbitohs crossed through Jaffahl Skillington and Cody Hill in the first spell, with Charlie Polynton converting one attempt.
However, the Rabbitohs lifted their intensity in the second half and took control of the contest with a dominant attacking display.
Phillip Lavakeiaho, Jamayne Feast, Dayne Jennings and Corbin Alvarez all crossed the try line for the Rabbitohs while Polynton added two more conversions to help seal the convincing victory.
Despite the loss, the Silktails showed promising moments in the first half but were unable to contain the Rabbitohs’ strong finish after the break.
