Shipping services suspended

Update: 11:05AM SHIPPING services between maritime communities, including Patterson Shipping has been suspended.

The National Disaster Management Office confirmed this in a Government statement issued last night and said services would resume on the advice from authorities.

More updates on maritime shipping schedules will be made available as and when information come to hand.

For now, the NDMO has urged members of the public to refrain from travelling out to sea and from going out in small boats and crafts during this festive season.

People are also advised to closely monitor media reports for updates on the weather situation and to take the necessary precautions.

Tropical Cyclone Ula was located near 18.2 South 173.7 West or about 540km East of Lakeba and about 830km East of Suva at 4am today.

The category 3 cyclone was moving West-South West at about 25km/hr.
