ANOTHER hole in one was recorded at the Fiji Sugar Corporation Penang Golf Club in the weekend, the second for this golfing season.

Mohinesh Sharma’s blind shot to the 10th green went in for one, much to the delight of the A grade player.

“You can’t see the green from the tee and it’s always the best judged shot that lands on the green and rolls down, players yelled out that it was a hole-in-one,” said Sharma.

In August club president Anish Chand also hit a hole in one, making Saturday’s feat the second this year.

Sharma also went on to win the Bargain Box-sponsored 36 holes stroke event over the weekend.

He returned a gross score of 140, playing rounds of 34, 34, 34 and 37.

Fiji National University student Usaia Gounder won the overall nett prize with a score of 122.

Jese Bale, Anand Sami, Aman Gounder and Rakesh Chandra were placed first, second, third and fourth in the A grade nett division while Avneet Gounder, Pawan Reddy, George Gounder and Prakash Naicker were top four in the B grade nett category.

The club will host a 18 hole stableford event on Saturday which is sponsored by Suncoast Rentals.

Meanwhile, Pita Angamuttu, 57, won the Rakiraki Hardware-sponsored 18 holes stroke championship a fortnight ago.

The veteran, playing on a handicap of 12, played rounds of 35 and 38 to win the title.
