The highly anticipated Salad Bowl Netball Festival is set to kick off on Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, bringing together netball teams from across Fiji and international competitors.
The tournament will feature a competitive lineup in the open women, men’s, and U15 divisions, with local and international teams eager to display their skills.
In the Open Women division, 16 teams have been placed across four pools. Pool A includes Salad Bowl One alongside Wanderers One, Seniwi, and Gusinawai. Pool B presents another strong competition with Salad Bowl two, Wanderers two, Angel Stars, and Surf City vying for supremacy. Coastal Magic, Super 7, Tavua, and KAPPL in Pool C while Pool D boasts Blooms Magic, Huva Stallions, Rising Stars, and Ba River.
The Men’s grade promises equally fierce competition with eight teams spread across two pools. Pool A sees Salad Bowl one, Highlanders, Blooms Magic, and Tavua battling for top honors, while Pool B features Salad Bowl two, Namosi, Huva Stallions, and Navosa.
The U15 grade features upcoming talent divided across Pool A and Pool B. Pool A includes Angel Stars one, Salad Bowl Development, Huva Stallion, Seniwi, Gusinawai, and Rising Stars. Pool B comprises Angel Stars two , Salad Bowl Swifts, Blooms Magic, Seniwi Green, Henitaveti, and Huva Stallions two.
Salad bowl netball president Judy Kumar explained the objective of the festival is to provide teams with more opportunities to compete outside their regular club seasons.
With teams from different parts of Fiji and international entrants, including Australian teams, the Salad Bowl Netball Festival promises to be a thrilling display of netball talent, uniting the local netball community for a day of competitive, high-energy matches.
