THE Fiji National Rugby League has partnered with WOWS Kids Fiji as part of their corporate social responsibility.

The FNRL have a few initiatives lined up and a clean-up campaign was one of their projects.

Acting FNRL chief executive officer Don Natabe said their main focus was to support a charity organisation.

“Apart from engaging in sports, supporting the WOWS Kids Fiji foundation as our charity organisation will help the players get to know the community,” Natabe said.

“This is culture that we want to develop for our players.

“We have a line of programs and doing charity work is one of them.

“In partnering with WOWS we thought it will be a good way to start and as the days go by we will engage our players on the plans that has been put into place.”

Natabe added that every ticket that would be sold during the Tonga vs Fiji Tri Series to be held next month, a dollar would be given to the WOWS Kids Fiji.

WOWS Kids Fiji team leader Viola Lesi said this was a great opportunity for sports players to get involved not just on community work but to familiarise themselves on what child cancer issues was all about.

“They will be part of awareness and sending message to the community on what child cancer is all about and how we can predict it at an early age,” Lesi said.

“We look up to these players as role models and for them to come in and be part of us, we are grateful to them.”
