Swift action by Fiji Police Force led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man who robbed a woman along the Flagstaff area in Suva yesterday.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said the suspect was alleged to have grabbed assorted items including an iPhone worth more than $6000 and $100 cash from the 45-year-old woman, who was returning from church with her son.

Mrs Tabua said an eyewitness, who saw the suspect get in a waiting vehicle, reported the matter at the Totogo Police Station.

She said the suspect and the driver were arrested early this morning and only the iPhone was recovered.

Investigations continue.
