THE Vodafone Nasinu Festival has officially kicked off with the introduction of its queen contestants on Monday night.

Nasinu Town Council acting chief executive officer Felix Magnus urged the contestants to use the platform to advocate for young people and inspire them to overcome challenges.

Speaking at the event, Mr Magnus said the Miss Nasinu crown carried a responsibility beyond the competition, noting that the festival had produced several Miss Fiji winners in the past.

“You’ve been put on a platform to advocate your beliefs, your dreams to the people here in Nasinu,” he said.

He encouraged the contestants to speak with passion and enthusiasm and ensure their messages reached young people.

“Inspire them to rise above all the odds and the challenges that they face. That’s the platform you’ve been put on.”
