Public consultations to review the Nursing Act 2011 begin today, with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services inviting Fijians to help shape the future of nursing legislation.
The first session will be held in Suva, with officials aiming to gather feedback to ensure the law remains relevant, responsive and aligned with modern healthcare standards.
In a statement, the Ministry said the consultations are being conducted in partnership with the Office of the Solicitor General.
“These sessions provide an opportunity for participants to share feedback, raise concerns, and contribute to strengthening the legislative framework that governs nursing practice,” the Ministry said.
Consultations will also be held in Labasa on May 6 and Lautoka on May 14.
Members of the public can also make written submissions through hand delivery, mail or email.
The consultation will be held today at the Lower Auditorium, Civic Centre from 10am.
