The University of the South Pacific’s Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia has clarified media reports saying the institution had not laid off any members of its staff.
Prof Ahluwalia also said that they were not planning to do the same anytime soon.
“We had not laid off any staff nor are we planning to do so anytime soon despite media reports,” he said.
He said if there was a need for a pay cut, which was a last resort, it would begin in the upper echelons of the university before cascading down to its staff.
