Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 12-year-old boy, Lote Qima whose body was discovered near his home in Wailoku yesterday.
According to Police, the boy was last seen playing at a neighbour’s home on Wednesday evening but failed to return home, prompting concern from his family.
His mother later reported him missing, and a search was launched.
At around midday yesterday, the boy’s body was found near the family home.
A 29-year-old man has been taken into Police custody in connection with the incident and is assisting investigators.
Police have confirmed that investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
No further details have been released at this stage as enquiries remain ongoing.
