Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is looking forward to returning to Fiji after undergoing “successful surgery” in Australia.
Acting Prime Minister amd Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he spoke to the PM yesterday and he was well.
“I’ve just spoken with the honourable Prime Minister some minutes back following his successful procedure as we have highlighted the other day,” he said.
“He is feeling very well and is up walking around the hospital.
“He has asked me to express his gratitude to everyone for their kind words of support and indeed their prayers. He is looking forward to his return.”
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said Mr Bainimarama was “well on his way to recovery” after undertaking an urgent surgical procedure in Melbourne, Australia, last Friday.
