NATIONAL Union of Workers general secretary Felix Anthony has confirmed that the union and Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) management met on Wednesday to discuss a collective agreement between the two parties.
Mr Anthony said negotiations had been going on for a year and a half.
“The talks have been going on for a while, we’ve now almost completed the negotiations, and hopefully in the next fortnight we will be ready to sign a collective agreement with CAAF,” he said.
Employment Minister Agni Deo Singh was not part of the meeting, Mr Anthony added.
The collective agreement includes a job evaluation that has been completed.
Mr Anthony said he hoped to meet with the CAAF management within the next fortnight to formalise the agreement.
CAAF’s chief executive officer Theresa Levestam said at this stage, discussions between them and the union were ongoing and CAAF would not comment prematurely to avoid any misinterpretation or speculation.
