Opposition political parties have no plans and they also do not have any manners, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.
Speaking at the opening of the Namosi Provincial Council meeting, he said the Opposition tried to stop movement and close schools and businesses.
He said the Government fought against COVID-19 and won.
Australia and New Zealand, he said, provided financial aid during the pandemic and this had never happened before.
He said the assistance only came because the two governments trusted the way his government used money.
He said while the Government brought about stability, the Opposition gave up easily and were uncertain.
He said the nation cannot rely on the Opposition to lead, adding the FijiFirst government had established new laws and changes that would ensure people were well-looked after.
As examples of these, he cited free education for schoolchildren, free medical check-ups, development and infrastructure, and the protection of natural resources.
These initiatives, he said, were not “freebies”, nor were they politically motivated.
He added the Opposition used those terms to belittle those benefiting from these initiatives, and they would continue to criticise the Government to get public support.
