A 25-year-old man was taken into police custody yesterday after the person he was with at a popular night spot in Lautoka City allegedly died from breathing complications.
The police confirmed the suspect alerted officers at the Shirley Park Police Post at 4am for assistance when the deceased man started developing breathing difficulties.
“He was conveyed to Lautoka Aspen Medical Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival,” a police statement read.
“A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.”
Police refuted claims the suspect was a sex worker.
