VERATA House is the new champion of the Queen Victoria School (QVS) inter-house competition with 16 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze medals.

In second place was the 2018 inter-house champions Bau House with 14 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze.

Rewa took third place with 11 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze while Tovata House settled for fourth place with 10 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals.

School principal Qalo Lesi said the school athletics theme for the year was “rebuilding” which was focused on taking the school back to its sporting excellence days.

“We want to bring QVS to where it was before, in terms of sporting excellence which is why our theme is to rebuild.

This year we cannot guarantee we will come out firing but we will come in as underdogs as we are still in our rebuilding phase and we will show the other schools what we’ve got,” said Lesi.

The school held its last day of inter-house competition yesterday at the ANZ stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva.
