NASINU FC kept their Extra Battle of the Giants tournament hopes alive after defeating Blue Gas Navua FC 1-0 in their second group match at 4R Stadium at Govind Park yesterday.
The result also saw Navua become the first team to exit the competition. Nasinu made a strong start, combining solid defence with attacking pressure to find the breakthrough through Bill Afi, who scored from a free-kick.
Nasinu took a 1-0 lead into halftime and maintained their composure in the second half, defending strongly to secure the crucial three points.
Nasinu head coach Abunesh Kapur was pleased with his team’s response after their opening match.
