VALUE City has turned a morning tea into a $45,000 lifeline for children battling cancer.
The company hosted the WOWS Kids fundraiser at its Api Tonga Centre outlet in Suva yesterday, raising $35,000, with Value City adding another $10,000.
Managing director Vera Chute said the company has raised about $165,000 for children with cancer since 2023.
For Gracy Gerard, the cause is deeply personal. Her then nine-month-old daughter was diagnosed after sores appeared when she started walking. Doctors told her the child was 85 per cent affected and could not be treated in Fiji. The family had to seek treatment in India.
“It’s not dollars only, but the value of hope,” Ms Chute said.
