History was created yesterday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva after Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School was crowned the overall winner in the girls’ division of the 2024 Coca-Cola Games.

The school bagged a total of 14 gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals to etch its name in the game’s history books.

Suva Grammar School claimed second place with eight gold, five silver and five bronze medals while tournament favourites Adi Cakobau School finished in third place.

MGM head coach Waliki Satakala said the win was the result of endless hours of hard work and dedication by the athletes since last year.

Meanwhile, Marist Brothers High School defended the boys’ title.
