Port Denarua Marina is 100 per cent tenanted out by local and international vessels. Marina CEO Cynthia Rasch said all of their commercial berths had been occupied while a long waiting list was still being assessed by the company.

“To be honest, it has been crazy,” she said.

“We are fully occupied. Our commercial berths have a waitlist and all of our ferry, dive services and other services are fully occupied.

“On our transients which are our foreign vessels that come in seasonally from May to October they are on waitlist too.

“We have never seen such a bumper season. At the moment we are telling people if you are on the waitlist we cannot promise you that you are coming in.

“I would say that this year is going to be much bigger than 2019 for us and that is a huge recovery.”

She said one of the reasons for the massive response from their foreign clients had been the success of the Blue Lane program.

“The Blue Lanes internationally has had a massive impact on marketing for Fiji.

“A lot of the boats that we are seeing are very new.

“They have never been to this part of the world. They have never been to this Marina and they are coming in because they heard about it.

“There has been some really good success stories that came out of the Blue Lanes and for us as a destination has been very good for us.”
