A 40-YEAR-old man who allegedly raped a seven-year-old student at a settlement in Navua has had his case transferred to the High Court.
The accused is charged with one count of rape, one count of wrongful confinement and one count of abduction.
He appeared before Magistrate Geethani Wijesinghe.
The alleged offences took place last Saturday, July 21.
Magistrate Wijesinghe has ordered the accused to file his notice of alibi.
He has been remanded in custody.
He will reappear in court on August 7.
