THE late Major Amelia Dauveiqaravi Tadu was a respected senior officer and served in the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) for 30 years.

Major Tony Nagauna highlighted this while delivering the eulogy on behalf of the RFMF during Major Tadu’s funeral service held today at the Reverend Tuvasu hall at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua.

Major Nagauna said Major Tadu’s sudden demise came as a shock for the RFMF family.

“The calling of our heavenly came at a time that we least expected and also at a time when her services were still much needed,” Major Nagauna said.

He said Major Tadu was enlisted into the RFMF on February 11 1988 and was commissioned on December 17 of the same year.

“Major Tadu is a respected senior officer who had served for 30 years in the military. A period which defined her as a unique person,” he said.

Hundreds gathered at the hall today to pay their last respects to Major Tadu and she was later laid to rest at the Nasinu Cemetry.
