The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is yet to set a date for the appointment of a substantive chief executive officer following the resignation of Irimaia Rokosawa last Friday.
Mr Rokosawa resigned to join his family abroad, with the LTA board saying the recruitment of his replacement would be carried out through the “appropriate recruitment process and due diligence”.
In the interim, general manager policy and business development Makitalena Drova has been appointed acting CEO.
The LTA board confirmed Mr Rokosawa’s resignation, saying he had stepped down for personal reasons.
“The board fully respects his decision and has accepted his resignation,” LTA deputy board chairperson Miliana Vulakouvaki said.
Mr Rokosawa was appointed CEO on October 1, 2024, after serving twice as acting CEO and holding several senior positions within the authority.
The board said his contribution extended beyond his tenure as CEO, including his service as chief financial officer from 2020 to 2022 and general manager finance and administration from 2017 to 2019.
“His knowledge, professionalism and experience have been an important part of the LTA’s continued progress,” Ms Vulakouvaki added.
The board thanked Mr Rokosawa for his service and said he had made a “meaningful contribution” to the authority and the people it serves.
