SCHOOL transport movements are anticipated to be normal come next Monday, January 13, when the new 2020 school term begins.

Lands Transport Authority CEO Samuel Simpson said should there be disruptions in transport movements, the authority had contingencies in place to cater for any incidence.

Mr Simpson also advised people residing at Dakavunu and Tokoloa areas off the Tavua-Vatukoula main highway that two Licence Carriers (LC) had been issued with public service licences to transport children to school and cater for local transport needs in the two areas following the withdrawal of services by Baitul Buses.

“The provision of the two LCs last year is very timely for children and people living along that area who don’t need to walk down the main road to catch the bus,” he said.

“The LCs will cater for this transport need along the Dakavunu and Tokoloa providing a link with the main highway.”
