FORMER Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef has admitted to possessing methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as breaching his bail conditions in 2019.
The 65-year-old entered a guilty plea before Magistrate Lisiate Fotofili yesterday to possessing 1.8 grams of methamphetamine and 4.0 grams of marijuana on December 10, 2019. He also pleaded guilty to breaching his bail conditions.
Mr Lateef’s production order was extended, and the case has been adjourned to September 18 for mitigation submissions.
He is currently serving a 44-month prison sentence for a separate 2019 incident involving the unlawful possession of 9.5 grams of methamphetamine and 3.5 grams of marijuana at a hotel in Suva.
