YOUNG Praveet Kumar is eager to stamp his mark in this year’s Nadroga Zone after winning the junior boys 100m event during the Kavanagasau College inter-house at the school ground in Sigatoka yesterday.

The Year 10 sprinter was in top form for his Stallions House outpacing his fellow participants to win the event.

Kumar, who finished fourth at the Nadroga Zone last year, says his focus is to do well this year.

He said he had been preparing well and would be out to improve his result from where he left off last year.

“I also won the sub junior 100m final here but I failed to win at the zone,” said Kumar.

“I was confident of my chances and I am happy with this win.

“The next big challenge is to do better at the zone and to also force my way in the Coca-Cola Games .”

Kumar will feature in the 100m, 200m and long jump at the zone meet.

His presence will bolster his school’s performance at the zone meet as he will be one of the athletes the school is relying on to win medals.
