NEWLY-inducted prefects of Baulevu High School in Nausori have been urged to let their actions speak louder than their words during their time as young leaders of their school.
“Your actions determine you as a leader,” Minister for Youth and Sports Parveen Kumar told students during an induction ceremony.
“You may say all the right things but one wrong act will undermine your standing as a leader.
“It takes many acts of service to become a leader but it only takes one act of disservice to undo all your good work and your standing in the community.”
Mr Kumar also reminded the young student leaders to make fair and responsible decisions while carrying out their duties.
“It is important that whenever we are recognised with an award, we accept it with dignity and use it as a means to improve ourselves and those around us.”
