THE absence of a market to financially empower the women of Kioa Island in Cakaudrove has delayed their business plans, says Kioa Island Women’s Association Greet Luisa.

In a meeting with the Minister for Women, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, who is visiting the island, Ms Luisa said marketing their products was a need.

“This is a good opportunity to inform the Government team about our needs, especially having a market for our women to sell handicraft items,” she said.

“The women of Kioa are very talented but the absence of a market is a problem for us.”

Mrs Vuniwaqa visited Rabi Island yesterday.
