THERE are capable leaders within the Peoples Alliance party, says Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica.

In an interview on The Fiji Times online portal The Lens@177, Mr Kamikamica said this was one of the party’s strengths compared to other political parties contesting the next general election.

“One of the things that I started talking about which hopefully people can understand is when you look at People’s Alliance, it’s not just one individual,” he said.

“There are a lot of individuals that are leaders in their own right.

“(Ro Filipe) Tuisawau, (Filimoni) Vosarogo, (Sakiasi) Ditoka, (Lynda) Tabuya and then you got other assistant ministers like (Sakiusa) Tubuna and several others who are very capable people.

“We have the bench strength.”

He said a number of current and new political parties relied heavily on one individual.

“Some of these parties are talking about one individual that is going to save Fiji.

“No one on their own can save this country.

“This country will only be saved if everybody works together.”

He added their collective experience, and common national goals set the party apart from others.

“There are parties in existence or are coming that have a broad bench strength with proven experience and they haven’t just come in to make money in politics.

“That is where I think Peoples Alliance sets itself apart from some of the other parties.”
