The Minister for National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu today received relief items worth over $72,000 from the Japanese government.

The donated items included 120 water tanks, one generator and nine tents.

Mr Seruiratu acknowledged the assistance that was rendered to the ministry and said it was timely as it would assist those who were affected during Tropical Cyclone Harold.

Japan’s Ambassador to Fiji Masahiro Omura said he was confident that the relief supplies would help support people and communities to get back to some form of normalcy and at the same time complement the hard work that was carried out by the Government and the support from other development partners.
