A heavy rain alert remains in force for Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms forecast today.
The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, in its 5.30am bulletin today, said a trough of low pressure continues to affect the western part of the country.
Occasional rain, isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms are forecast over Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands through to midnight tonight.
Cloudy periods with some showers are expected elsewhere.
Moderate to fresh easterly winds are forecast, while seas are expected to be moderate to rough.
Similar conditions are expected to continue into Tuesday, with occasional rain, isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms again forecast for Viti Levu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
Cloudy periods with some showers are expected elsewhere on Tuesday.
