In a world where talent retention is increasingly vital, Motibhai Group is leading the charge with an innovative approach to upskilling its workforce.

The company recently held a two-day executive leadership workshop for about 45 managers, aimed at increasing self-awareness, improving motivational skills, enhancing the capability to deal with change, and developing skills to navigate changes in Fiji’s work culture.

The workshop was facilitated by renowned international trainer Mark Wager, chief leadership coach at the Australasian Leadership Institute.

Motobhai Group’s manager Human Resources, Training and Compliance Wastika Chandra said the training not only provided valuable learning opportunities but also a supportive environment where employees feel encouraged to grow and thrive.

“At the core of the training was building the confidence level of our management team and enhancing their decision-making skills,” Ms Chandra said.

“Well-trained managers can better understand and address the needs of their team members, leading to higher levels of employee engagement and satisfaction.”

Group manager People and Culture, Admin, Sanjay Kumar thanked the company for investing in training the workforce.

“By providing our employees with the tools they need to learn, train, and mentor each other effectively, we are not only enhancing productivity but also fostering a sense of ownership and engagement across the organisation,” Mr Kumar said.

He emphasised that alongside their fervent pursuit of sustained business growth, the company had recognised the importance of the well-being and professional development of their staff.

“The business landscape is constantly evolving.

“Training equips managers with the tools and strategies needed to navigate and manage change effectively, ensuring that their teams remain resilient and adaptable.

“This management training does not stop here; all participants will continue with advanced coaching conversations in the workplace, enabling Motibhai Group to build its own superstars whom all we expect to develop cultural competence, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.”
