BRED Bank Fiji has officially opened its BRED Central branch in the heart of Suva.
BRED Bank Fiji chief executive officer Pierre Tastet said the central branch, previously located at the MHCC Building when the banking group made its decision to invest in Fiji more than 10 years ago, represented a significant investment and a promise of a long term commitment to Fiji.
He said the new branch had been designed with one central idea in mind – the customers.
The central branch will offer retail banking services for individuals and families; a business banking space where relationship managers will stand alongside SMEs, corporates and professionals to support growth, investment and jobs; and a premier banking centre – a private and personalised space for customers to access first-hand service from staff.
“As we celebrate this new physical branch, we also look ahead. The future of banking is both physical and digital,” Mr Tastet said.
“Our customers want the warmth of human relationships and the convenience of modern technology; that is why BRED is investing not only in branches but also in digital innovation.”
Mr Tastet said they would introduce new digital products and services over the coming months to make banking easier, faster and more accessible.”
Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France Benjamin Delannoy said the inauguration marked an important step in the bank’s expansion in Fiji, and a clear demonstration of its long-term commitment to the country.
“From one branch in 2012 to eight today across the Central, Eastern and Northern divisions, BRED has established itself as a trusted partner for Fijian households and businesses,” Mr Delannoy said.
He said the bank’s success in the country was also a concrete example of the partnership between France and Fiji supporting investment, jobs, and long-term growth. BRED Bank had contracted Menon Construction Limited for the central branch project.
